With a cast on, There are some things That I cannot do And I would like to tell You a few.
I cannot jump or ride my bike; I cannot run or take a hike; I cannot move my foot around; To my wheelchair I am bound. I cn't do most things I want to do; This really stinks, I wear one shoe.
I cannot carry things at all; It's really hard to kick a ball; I cannot go to parties 'Cause they wouldn't be that fun'; One thing that's good about it is I have more time to Tan In the Sun.
I'll wear this cast for a month in the summer But the more I talk about it, It seems more a Bummer.
Yes, people do make fun of me They push me Unexpectedly, So, now do you see? It stinks With a cast on.
The bright stars twinkle lightly And the moon shines luminously As the treetops tickle the sky
The birds sing their sweet song And the crickets chirp along Although the moon won't be awake for long
The daylight breaks the darkness of night And all the singing birds begin to take flight After all the sleeping animals woke with delight For the new day waiting after tonight
He wan't to come back, But can't find his way. He tries to remember, But he can't seem to see it through. Why can't he remember me?
How does he go day to day And tells too many lies? How can he make himself believe his mixed up imagination? Why does he ask me so many questions, Over and over again?
How can this be affecting me like this? Why is this disease making him, Lose everything he once was and cared about? Why is DEMENTIA taking over his life? Because he can't help it.
When you feel the darkness Has swept you away And all of the rainbows Have faded to gray So you think that you'll be Forever the same Look out to tomorrow Get by yesterday.
If safety means capture Then risk being free When locked in by hatred Love is the key.
Your heart is still beating Not everything's gone So just keep on trying Know you can be strong The rain will stop falling It shouldn't be long Until the sun rises To life's joyful song.
If it seems hope is lost You have to believe When locked in by hatred Love is the key.
Shades on my eyes, sun in the sky, firelight nights, and campfire frights. Late night talks that keep us stronger; memories that we wished would last longer. Playful smiles and heartfelt goodbye, complete with laughter-filled cries. The stories of today that will be memories of tomorrow; parting with them will be bittersweet sorrow.
Rain outside my window. The pitter patter against the pane, feels as if it is calling my name. I go outside and some how my mind wanders off. My imagination runs wild. In the rain I am free. In the Rain I am me.

Passing the sidewalk lies a single flower A weed really How it blooms though is a mystery How lonely it must be standing there all alone How it defies the odds to just be alive How it is perfectly ok with where it is People dont like the weed But i think of it more as a flower really
Oh as I sit at the computer, thinking of all I must do. I think to myself I must write a poem. but its just a poem. It means nothing more than a few words on a white page, they may mean something or the may mean nothing, it is just a poem. Poems are to make you feel something, or is that just what we are taught? Are the really all that creative.. or are they something we have made in a minute. Is it just a poem, or does it mean something?
Rain
ReplyDeleteI sat on the grass and looked up at the sky,
And the cloudy gray sky started to cry.
I want the rain to go away,
And I don't want it to come back today, tomorrow, or any other day.
My haiku called:
ReplyDeleteThe Optimist
Hope is a good thing.
It doesn't ever leave us.
People need hope, to live.

With A Cast On
ReplyDelete(wrote in 7th grade!)
With a cast on,
There are some things
That I cannot do
And I would like to tell
You a few.
I cannot jump or ride my bike;
I cannot run or take a hike;
I cannot move my foot around;
To my wheelchair I am bound.
I cn't do most things I want to do;
This really stinks,
I wear one shoe.
I cannot carry things at all;
It's really hard to kick a ball;
I cannot go to parties
'Cause they wouldn't be that fun';
One thing that's good about it is
I have more time to
Tan
In the Sun.
I'll wear this cast for a month in the summer
But the more I talk about it,
It seems more a
Bummer.
Yes, people do make fun of me
They push me
Unexpectedly,
So, now
do you see?
It stinks
With a cast on.
Summer
ReplyDeleteThe time of year,
Every kid and teacher work for,
Countdowns and wishful thinking.
Ready to be out in the warn sunshine
Not sitting and doing work.
Finally, the warm sun, shining all-day,
Sitting by the clear blue water,
Trying to get the perfect sun kissed tan,
Oh, Summer I cannot wait!

My Grandpa's Disease
ReplyDeleteBy: Alex Stanton 1-2
He wan't to come back,
But can't find his way.
He tries to remember,
But he can't seem to see it through.
Why can't he remember me?
How does he go day to day
And tells too many lies?
How can he make himself believe
his mixed up imagination?
Why does he ask me so many questions,
Over and over again?
How can this be affecting me like this?
Why is this disease making him,

Why is DEMENTIA taking over his life?
Because he can't help it.

The Flower in The Crack

A weed really
How it blooms though

How lonely it must be
standing there all alone
How it defies the odds
to just be alive
How it is perfectly ok
with where it is
People dont like the weed
But i think of it more as

A Poem~Just a Poem
ReplyDeleteOh as I sit at the computer,
thinking of all I must do.
I think to myself I must write a poem.
but its just a poem.
It means nothing more than a few words on a white page, they may mean something
